A Farewell and Thank You from Dr. Jeff

To My Fox Chase Pediatrics Family,

It has been an honor and privilege to care for you these past 41 years. My goal was to provide the best pediatric care possible, while at the same time treating each of you as one of my own family.

Pediatrics for me has been a calling. I’ve often remarked that I haven’t worked a day in my life because of the joy I get from my interactions with all of you. The difference between physicians is not their knowledge, but the pride it takes to always do the right thing by their patients; that they truly care about them and what happens to them.

I hope my feeling of love and respect for all of you has come through in my interactions during our visits together. I hope you felt a sense of security knowing that I and my colleagues were always available 24/7 through a simple phone call. I hope that I have made a difference in your lives as you have made in mine.

I have been amazed and gratified by the outpouring of affection and gratitude I have received since I announced my retirement. It proves to me, through your acknowledgment, that I have done the right things.

As I enter the next phase of my life, my Fox Chase family will be a lasting memory I will carry with me always. Thank you for putting your trust in me. I’m sure I’ll see many of you in the future.

I am confidant that the legacy that I started forty-one years ago will be ably continued by Drs. Caren Kirschner, Tim Flynn, and our nurse practitioners Yuliya Bilan Yu and Colleen McCabe. I want to thank my loyal staff for putting up with me, I couldn’t have done this without you.

Farewell and God bless you all.

With sincere thanks and gratitude,

Jeff Ettinger

Dr. Ettinger has been there for the McCabe boys from birth to my oldest who saw him for his Army physical. You can not know what you have meant to us. There simply are not words for our gratitude. There were times it was nothing and times when it was serious but never a time we doubted that we were in the best hands of all times. Enjoy your retirement. Medicine is a life spent!

Best wishes for an amazing new part of your life. As you know, you have been a part of ours through your care of our daughters and now of our grandson. I can only imagine the emotions of holding a baby whose mother you also held. We’re sorry to see you go but wish you all the best. Thank you for everything.

Dr Ettinger has taken care of both my daughters and more recently my grandson. He was always professional and knowledgeable. He has managed every health crisis my children have had and has made me feel satisfied that we were getting the best care available. He is the best. I wish him all the best. Enjoy your retirement you deserve it. Thanking you for everything that you have done for my family since 1978.
